girls in construction event
Three members of the BSN Group team, Olivia Halliburton, Emily Halliburton and Neave Cox, recently volunteered at the Girls in Construction event organised by Sam Lee, helping to introduce young girls to the exciting opportunities available within the construction industry.
The event welcomed 50 enthusiastic girls, all eager to learn more about what a future career in construction could involve. Throughout the day, participants took part in a variety of hands-on activities designed to develop practical skills, build confidence, and provide insight into the diverse range of careers available across the sector.
The enthusiasm, curiosity and creativity shown by the girls was inspiring to see, with many embracing the challenges and opportunities presented throughout the day. Events such as these are instrumental in helping to raise awareness of the construction industry and encouraging young people to consider careers they may not have previously explored.
Research suggests that career perceptions formed between the ages of 8 and 12 can have a significant influence on future aspirations. By providing early exposure to construction and its many career pathways, initiatives like Girls in Construction help to challenge stereotypes and inspire the next generation of industry professionals.
BSN Group is proud to support opportunities that promote inclusion, education and career development within the construction sector. A special thank you goes to Sam Lee for organising such a valuable event, as well as to all the volunteers who helped make the day an engaging and memorable experience for everyone involved.
We look forward to seeing the positive impact these young participants will have on the future of the industry. 👷✨
