BSN Group Completes Emergency Department Entrance at Queen’s Hospital, Burton
BSN Group is proud to mark a significant milestone at Queen’s Hospital, Burton, part of University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, with the successful completion and handover of the new Emergency Department (ED) entrance.
Following the delivery of both the external extension works and final internal upgrades, the new entrance is now officially open and operational, representing a major step forward in enhancing patient access and care within the hospital.

The project has delivered a wide range of improvements designed to modernise facilities and support both patients and staff. Key elements of the scheme included:
- Upgraded staff and patient areas to improve comfort, usability, and overall experience
- New structural steelwork installations to support advanced air handling units (AHUs)
- Enhanced fire alarm systems to strengthen safety across the department
- Modern triage zones to streamline patient flow and improve efficiency
- Improved staff facilities designed to support wellbeing and enable the delivery of high-quality care
