At BSN Group, we believe in putting our values into action—and this week, four of our own are setting off on an extraordinary challenge to do just that. Managing Director Darren Perry, Commercial Director Jennifer Reynolds, and Contracts Managers Marcus Dominick and Neil Chapman are about to embark on the climb of a lifetime—scaling Mount Kilimanjaro to raise vital funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity’s ‘It Starts Here’ Appeal.

Why Kilimanjaro?

The ‘It Starts Here’ Appeal is dedicated to transforming the hospital’s front entrance, creating a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive space for children, families, and staff. This project is particularly special to BSN, as we are proud to be the official contractor for the new entrance, set to begin construction in February. While we build the physical structure, the Kilimanjaro climb is our way of building something even greater—hope, support, and a future where families arriving at the hospital feel cared for from the moment they step inside.

The Final Countdown

After months of dedicated training—including hill walks, gym sessions, and team hikes in all weather conditions—Darren, Jen, Marcus, and Neil are ready to take on Africa’s highest peak. Their journey begins Friday 31st January, with the team aiming to reach the summit on Thursday 6th February at around 7am—a gruelling but rewarding challenge for a cause close to our hearts.

A BSN Send-Off

This week, our office staff gathered to wish them well, sharing words of encouragement and a special goodbye video from colleagues and family—a reminder of the incredible support behind them as they take on this challenge.

We could not be prouder of our team for stepping up in such a monumental way. To follow their journey and support their cause, be sure to follow BSN Group on LinkedIn. Every step they take up that mountain is a step towards changing lives at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Good luck, team—see you at the summit!
